The repercussions of LA Galaxy’s 4-1 loss to Portland Timbers continued to be felt throughout the week, with the club making a statement regarding the racial abuse directed at defender Derrick Williams, whose red-card foul resulted in a season-ending injury to a Portland player.
Williams, an Irish international in his first season with LA Galaxy, has yet to receive a punishment from the league’s disciplinary committee but will likely miss today’s game.
